Photography taken of London landmarks & locations near Mudchute Docklands Light Railway Station. Originally opened on 31 August 1987, but was rebuilt and reopened 20 November 1999. Mudchute DLR Station is served by the Docklands Light Railway and is located in zone 2. The station was intended to be named Millwall Park, but Millwall F.C. had experienced some particularly nasty incidents of hooliganism at the time by minority of its fans. Local people were concerned that visiting fans in particular would travel to the station in error – not realising that the club’s ground is some distance away on the other side of the river. Consequently, the name Mudchute was suggested and subsequently agreed upon.
